Hi, I'm Danilo! Photographer | Husband & Father | Navy Veteran | Air Traffic Controller | Stillwater Oklahoma & Beyond

Family

Thank you for learning about me and my photography. I’m passionate about capturing meaningful moments, authentic connections, and the beauty of the world around us.

My name is Danilo Baia Milhomem. I’m originally from Miracema do Tocantins, Brazil, and now live in Stillwater, Oklahoma. My journey in photography started back in 2004 when I came across a 35mm Olympus OM1 in a thrift store. That moment sparked a curiosity that quickly grew into a passion for both the creative and technical sides of the craft. Around that time, my neighbor Richard Palmer, a Vietnam veteran and experienced photographer, became a close mentor. He introduced me to classic photography techniques and encouraged me to take a course from the New York Institute of Photography, which helped me refine my skills in portraits, weddings, and nature photography.

In 2010, I began my professional photography career in the San Francisco Bay Area. That same year, I married my wife, Milla, which made it an especially memorable time. In 2017, I joined the U.S. Navy as an Air Traffic Controller, and although the schedule was demanding, I continued to pursue photography whenever I could. After completing my service, we moved to Manchester, Connecticut for a new chapter. Eventually, we found our way to Stillwater, where I’ve reignited my photography business with a fresh perspective and renewed passion.

Photography first started as a hobby, inspired by my love for old family photos and the stories they carried through generations. As time passed, it became much more than that. It turned into my way of preserving meaningful moments that might otherwise be forgotten. When I’m not working, I spend time with my wife and two daughters. We love hiking, camping, and exploring beautiful places together. These shared adventures not only bring us closer but also spark my creativity and influence how I approach my photography.

Clients often tell me their sessions feel more like a fun and relaxed outing than a formal photo shoot. I aim to create an atmosphere where people feel at ease, allowing genuine connections and emotions to shine through naturally. As someone who prefers observing over directing, I focus on the quiet in-between moments that often speak the loudest. Photography gives us the gift of holding on to time. I feel incredibly honored to help families create images that become lasting memories and cherished heirlooms.
